Full Time Waldorf Education Program

Join like minded individuals who value the creative Potential of children. Learn to awaken the inner faculties necessary to practice Waldorf Education. After completing a 30-week foundation studies program (or its equivalent), you can actively pursue a career as a Waldorf Teacher of children under the tutelage of Master teachers at Rudolf Steiner College. Here you will learn an approach to teaching that is at the cutting edge of education. When you arrive, you will join a community of students and teachers who pursue New and meaningful ways of guiding young people to learn mathematics, language arts, science, geography, music, handcrafts, art & drama.

During the 22 weeks of instruction you will learn to grasp child development and the nature of the human being necessary to the task of teaching. You will be introduced to the methods & curriculum of each subject. If you are interested in early childhood education, you will learn to become a teacher who develops the magical learning environment of a Waldorf Kindergarten. During 8 weeks of practice teaching (11 weeks if you are enrolled in the early childhood program) you will apprentice with experienced Waldorf teachers and share in the subtleties of their craft. You will transform your self through artistic endeavor and learn the practice of self-development through our classes in inner work . When you graduate, you will be enabled to join one of the 700 school worldwide. There are more positions open each year than there are graduates.

Patrick Wakeford-Evans, MA

Academic Dean, Program Director, Full-time Waldorf Teacher Education

After 17 years as a class teacher, Patrick joined Rudolf Steiner College as an adult educator in 1999. He has given lectures and mentored teachers in Mexico, Japan, England, and the United States. He has worked as a musician, actor, and playwright. His special interest is in science education and inner development. He has developed new programs at Rudolf Steiner College and is currently the Academic Dean.
